About

At Sense Nature Miami, we develop and facilitate innovative programs that integrate nature, creativity, and community engagement to enhance the well-being of people and the Earth.

Our mission is to cultivate an embodied recognition of our intrinsic connection to nature, emphasizing that each of us—humans and beyond—holds a unique and vital place in an interdependent ecosystem. We believe that this felt realization lies at the root of true values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental stewardship.

About

At Sense Nature Miami we develop and facilitate nature-based, innovative programs that combine sensory exploration, creative expression, and community engagement to enhance the well-being of both people and the Earth.

Our mission is to foster an embodied understanding of our inseparability from nature, emphasizing that each of us—humans and more—holds a unique and vital place within an interdependent global ecosystem. We believe that this deep recognition will naturally promote the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental stewardship.

Our Approach

Sense Nature Miami is founded on Karina’s diverse background as a Neuroscientist, Biologist, Professor, Artist, and Nature Integrator and Advocate. While our framework is structured, our approach deeply values personal exploration. As such, we are meticulously careful to ensure our programs do not direct participants toward predetermined experiences. We artfully curate each program to facilitate authentic self-expression and guide people in experiencing deep connection with nature, with themselves, and with others.

About

Karina Del Punta

Karina Del Punta, Ph.D., is an award-winning molecular neuroscientist, an artist, and a nature connector and advocate. Karina has always been fascinated by the natural world. As a scientist, she is driven by the curiosity to understand the underlying principles of biological processes and has performed research on the molecular mechanisms of sensory perception and behavior. As an artist, her goal is to capture and share that which words cannot convey. And as a nature connection guide, her passion is to facilitate and hold space for others to experience by themselves the power, beauty and true healing that arises from being present and becoming intimate with nature.

Karina holds a B.S./M.S. in Biology from the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD in Molecular Neuroscience from The Rockefeller University. During her time at Rockefeller, she served as a Research Professor and earned prestigious honors for her research. Her work has been published in top peer-reviewed scientific journals, such as Nature. Additionally, Karina is a certified Nature and Forest Therapy guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and has participated in advanced studies in ecopsychology, as well as in depth and archetypal psychology, at Pacifica Graduate Institute..

“I got a glimpse of what harmony, peace, belonging, and oneness with nature is without the usual day-to-day flight-or-fight responses. It was like like the regular warm and fuzzy feeling of love, but on a higher level of magnitude. It was like love on steroids! But without needing to ingest anything or joining a monastery in Tibet.”
